ISP-Myanmar Peace Desk

ISP-Myanmar aims to provide equity of access to evidence, data and policy ideas to different stakeholders in Myanmar’s peace process. ISP-Myanmar launched the website in September 2018 to provide information and analysis which are relevant to the conflict and peace development of Myanmar since the day of its independence in 1948. Peace Desk covers information on the Union Peace Conferences, a process of political dialogue between the government, Myanmar military and signatories of ethnic armed organizations (EAOs), encompassing on five themes – Politics, Economics, Social Issues, Land and Natural Resource Management, and Security. It also includes additional themes such as Peace Process Design, and Transition and Democratization.

ISP-Myanmar China Desk

In 2019,we have also launched a China Desk website. Although the role of China in Myanmar’s political transition and peace building is critical, Sino-Myanmar relations remain understudied. This initiative seeks to improve the equality of access to evidence, data and policy ideas to different stakeholders in Myanmar with regard to China. Moreover, we plan to make this site a platform for informed dialogue on Sino-Myanmar relation by inviting experts from China, Myanmar and other countries to write articles and analytical pieces on China desk.
